CAROLYN GROSSÉ GAWARECKI is a Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Knickerbocker Artists, Watercolor Honor Society,
Southern Watercolor Society, Virginia Watercolor Society,
Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Washington Watercolor Society. A
nationally recognized artist, her work has won over 100 awards and is in corporate and museum collections,
including the collection of the City of Dinan, France. She is the founder of the Potomac Valley
Watercolorists, is listed in Who’s Who of American Art, and participated in the U.S. International "Arts in the Embassies Program".
Carolyn's article "Texture a Watercolor with Casein" was featured in THE ARTISTS MAGAZINE Dec. 1991 and her article
“The Versatile Vignette” appears in the
Summer 1997 WATERCOLOR MAGIC. |
She was a finalist in The Artist's Magazine Annual Competition in
1991, 1995 and 1997 (when there over 10,000 entries).
Her works appear in the "Best of Watercolor" and
"Places" by Rockport Press and "The Artistic Touch III" by Creative Press.
Carolyn is represented
by McBride's Gallery, Annapolis, Maryland, the Atlantic Gallery, Washington D.C., The Art League,
Alexandria, Virginia, and Armstrong Fine Arts of Potomac, Maryland.
She was awarded a grant to paint
in Dinan, France in June 1997. Carolyn has judged national and area-wide exhibitions and is a
popular teacher for art society demonstrations. During September & October 2000, Carolyn had a large, successful watercolor exhibit at the French Embassy in Washington D.C.

An experienced and dedicated teacher, Carolyn currently teaches adult watercolor classes for
Falls Church City, Virginia and The Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia.
She has taught workshops throughout the U.S., in Mexico, France, England, Ireland, Greece, Spain and Bermuda. During the workshop tour, Carolyn will teach plein air painting on location giving personal attention to each student, demonstrate and have daily critiques. Her husband Stephen, a professional photographer, will be on hand to advise on photography or help with camera problems. The tour will include several concentrated painting days, plus time for touring, shopping and exploring. The trip is suited to experienced beginners through advanced artists.
