ST. REMY-DE-PROVENCE - in the center of the most beautiful area of Provence, this wonderful little town was much painted by Van Gogh, and at times you will feel as if you are walking through one of his paintings! Small enough that you can walk everywhere, yet large enough to offer a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops and fascinating spots to sketch and paint. The center part of the town is very old with quaint buildings, charming shops and cafes and very narrow streets. You’ll paint the interesting Roman ruins - Glanum - the Roman name for St. Remy and visit St. Paul-de-Mausole, the hospital where Van Gogh lived. You will enjoy St. Remy’s colorful market and quaint shops and cafes. Colleen has painted in St. Remy, so she will take you to the most interesting painting spots.
